Companies, products and services

I choose the things in my life carefully. I'm drawn to thoughtful design, serious engineering and products that just keep working, and I'll happily pay for long-term value over a quick bargain. These are the companies that have earned my trust, and why.

01

Power and energy

Energy that's there when I need it.

Anker

Batteries

Anker power banks pack serious capacity into a great form factor, with rapid charging and connections for just about everything I carry. Not one has given me trouble. Every battery eventually reaches the end of its life, but every Anker I've owned has had a long and useful one first.

EcoFlow

River 3

I don't often need portable 240V power, but when I do, the River 3 delivers. It's rated at 300W, or 600W in boost mode if I'm happy to accept a voltage drop, and that covers what I need. It has been 100% reliable, and the app is genuinely nice, letting me control it over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.

02

Sound

Great sound, wherever I am.

Bose

SoundLink Flex (Gen 2)

My SoundLink Flex goes everywhere with me. It's rugged and properly portable, and it fills the space with rich, full sound that belies its size. Out in the open air is where it really shines, whether that's the beach, the park or the back deck. Like every Bose product I've owned, it's beautifully designed and simply performs.

03

Apple ecosystem

Everyday tech that just works together. I use every piece of it caseless, because design this beautiful deserves to be seen and felt.

Apple

iPhone 18 Pro

My iPhone is the hub of my day. I value Apple's beautiful design, outstanding build quality and its genuine commitment to privacy, and I know it'll be looked after with updates for years to come. Like the rest of my Apple gear, I carry it caseless. It's too well made to hide.

Apple

Apple Watch Series 12

With GPS and cellular, my Watch gives me the freedom to leave my phone behind and still stay connected. Its health and fitness tracking keeps me honest about looking after my body, which matters to me as much as anything I build.

Apple

AirPods Pro 2

Noise cancellation lets me shut out the world and focus, and transparency mode brings it straight back when I need it. They move between my devices seamlessly, which makes them part of everything I do.

Apple

14-inch MacBook Pro (M3 Pro)

My MacBook Pro combines serious performance with excellent efficiency, so it handles real work without breaking a sweat or reaching for the charger. Continuity with my iPhone, Watch and AirPods makes the whole system feel like one machine, and it's built to last.

04

Home and living

Design I'm happy to live with every day.

IKEA

Furniture

I love IKEA's minimalist, Scandinavian-inspired design, and I appreciate its environmental credentials just as much. When it comes to flat-pack furniture, it's hard to go past IKEA.

05

Home cleaning

Clean floors, with technology doing the heavy lifting.

iRobot

Roomba j7+

My Roomba j7+ takes care of the floors every day without me lifting a finger. It maps the home intelligently, steers around obstacles it finds along the way, and empties itself into its base, so cleaning becomes something that just happens.

iRobot

Braava jet m6

The Braava jet m6 follows up with precise, careful mopping that leaves the hard floors fresh. Working as a team with the Roomba, the two give me hands-free clean floors and more time for what matters.

Roborock

H60 Hub Ultra

For everything the robots can't reach, the Roborock H60 Hub Ultra is my go-to. It's powerful, thoughtfully engineered and a pleasure to use, and its hub takes care of the mess afterwards, so a quick clean really is quick.

06

Personal care

Small daily rituals, done properly.

Philips

OneBlade

A great shaver with an innovative, safe design. I've used OneBlade for years, and I choose genuine blades because their quality and longevity are worth it.

Philips

Sonicare

Sonicare toothbrushes are powerful and full of features, with an elegant design that's a pleasure to use. Generic brush heads exist, but I stick with genuine ones because the quality is worth it.

07

Connectivity

Staying connected, whatever happens.

Starlink

Starlink Mini

The Starlink Mini packs satellite internet into something small enough to throw in a bag. Its resilience means local events like power outages and floods affect me less, and with a Roam plan I can set it up and connect almost anywhere. In the city there are faster options, but nothing beats that freedom and peace of mind.

Optus

Mobile

After Easter 2026 I moved my mobile service to Optus, looking for a network that performs where I spend most of my time, and I haven't looked back. In metro areas I've found Optus fast and dependable, with great value for what I get. Having my mobile and home internet with one provider keeps things simple too.

Optus

NBN

Optus NBN performs on par with the other major providers at a competitive price, and having it on the same bill as my mobile is a real convenience. It's IPv4 only for now, but with services like iCloud Private Relay my devices still reach IPv6-only sites, and everything I've needed has just worked.

08

Transport

The future of getting around.

Tesla

Model Y L

The Model Y L is the longer, six-seat Model Y, and it brings everything I love about Tesla with room for more people. Tesla's minimalist aesthetic matches my own, and it builds a damned good car. The Model Y was rated ANCAP's safest vehicle tested in 2025, and the L builds on that same platform, which is a big part of my confidence in it. It's also one of the most capable and feature-rich platforms on the road. Being electric, part of the future of transport, is the icing on the cake.
